Tell us about Kemira.
Kemira is a global chemicals company serving customers in water-intensive industries. Kemira is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, with more than 50 legal entities and close to 5000 employees world-wide. Kemira has been looking for a software to get started with their GDPR-work, as well as a long-term solution for managing processing of personal data.
What are your GDPR challenges?
“We had documented some of our global processes, but were yet to look at our local data flows. It would have been incredibly difficult to track all of them in an Excel sheet. And even if that would have worked, it would only partially cover our needs.”
In addition to managing data internally, Kemira also works with hundreds of data processors (such as payroll service providers, insurance companies or occupational health care companies) who manage their employees’ data.
Why did you choose DPOrganizer?
“We needed the tool to be easy for our employees to understand and use. Our local experts must be able to enter information and follow it up; we wanted to feel safe that they could input the data easily and without any problems.”
We looked at some similar providers, but DPOrganizer, with its ease-of-use, flexibility and price point, was a great choice. If you’re an organisation with a certain level of complexity and maturity, this is a perfect tool to help you in managing your personal data processing and responding to the requirements of the GDPR.
Any favourite features?
Definitely the user interface and the map! It is a very powerful visual tool – especially to get management and stakeholder attention. The tool simplifies and displays very complex information.”
